Subject: 10138/Code/Repeal2-168.1(b) Date: Mon, 27 Feb 1989 12:20:00 -0500 ORDINANCE NO. 10138 AN ORDINANCE TO REPEAL SECTION 2-168.1(b) AND AMEND SECTION 2-168.1(h), CHATTANOOGA CITY CODE, PART II, SO AS TO DELETE THE REQUIREMENT THAT THE PERSONAL EMERGENCY FOR WHICH PERSONAL LEAVE MAY BE TRANSFERRED NOT BE CAUSED BY AN ON-THE-JOB INJURY OR JOB-RELATED DISEASE OR CONDITION, AND TO LIMIT SUCH LEAVE FOR FIREMEN AND POLICEMEN. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE: SECTION 1. That Chattanooga City Code, Part II, Section 2-168.1(b) be and the same is hereby repealed so as to delete the requirement that the personal emergency for which personal leave may be transferred not be caused by an on-the-job injury or job- related disease or condition. SECTION 2. That Chattanooga City Code, Part II, Section 2-168.1(h) be and the same is hereby amended by adding thereto the following sentence: "Provided, however, sworn members of the fire and police services shall not be eligible to receive more than six (6) months of transfer of personal leave from other employees within a five (5) year term for personal injuries caused by an on-the-job injury or job-related disease or condition; subject to an exception granted in the discretion of the mayor for the good of the City." 0C SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall be effective two (2) weeks from and after its passage as provided by law.
